SUNNYVALE, CA, September 15, 2026 (EZ Newswire) -- AfinClic Financial Technologies, Inc. (dba AfinLoans) has raised $10 million and is deploying $4 million across 1,000 loans to borrowers with no credit file. On Wednesday, Sept. 16, it will explain its approach at the DCNY Summit at the U.S. House of Representatives on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.
Using frontier AI, the platform underwrites borrowers with no credit file based on earnings and the loan’s intended purchase. Its Salt Lake City pilot tested and measured that method loan by loan.
The Summit convenes cross-border founders, investors, policymakers, members of Congress, diplomats and ambassadors to discuss emerging technology’s economic and community impact.
The U.S. Census Bureau counts 29.8 million self-employed workers, gig workers and micro-businesses, generating $1.7 trillion in 2022 revenue. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau counted 7 million U.S. adults without credit records in 2020, but no federal data identifies how many are self-employed. No one has measured or priced that gap.
AfinLoans’ founders expect self-employment to accelerate as declining purchasing power and automation-driven layoffs push more families toward it while they still need to cover basic needs.
Each loan funded one income-generating purchase: a vehicle, equipment or working capital. Sophia, AfinLoans’ AI assistant, helped borrowers choose it, guided financing and stayed until income arrived, using no credit-bureau score.
Every loan adds repayment and income data, which AfinLoans considers its advantage. Competitors can buy the same AI, talent and infrastructure, but not repayment behavior from borrowers excluded by traditional scoring.
“Our mission is to help self-employed workers access income opportunities that the traditional credit system has priced out of reach,” said Armando Vejar and Jaaziel Munoz, founders of AfinLoans. “The work revolution is underway. Sophia helps humans rise with it.”
Vejar brings 20 years of experience in lending; Munoz brings 26 years in software and research. They assembled more than 28 experts and built operational rails with Snell & Wilmer, Parsons Behle & Latimer and Tenet Consultores.
Loans issued in Q4 2026 and Q1 2027 will complete the nearly finished dataset, providing the volume Sophia needs to complete training and establish the foundation for a planned $15 million seed round.
