Aeon Awarded $13.8M SOCOM Contract for Zeus Missile System

PR Newswire

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Aeon Industrial Inc. announced today that U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) has awarded the company a $13.8 million, one-year contract. The contract covers the enhancement, testing, and delivery of a shoulder-fired configuration of the Zeus Missile System, including initial safety and pathway-to-certification milestones through Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and LRIP deliveries.

SOCOM $13.8M Award to Aeon

Zeus is a tactical strike system designed to modernize shoulder-fired weapons that have been in service for more than three decades. At approximately 20 pounds and 30 inches long, Zeus is intended to pack precision into a compact, lightweight system built for easy movement through confined and urban environments.

"I founded Aeon to modernize the arsenal for the warfighters tasked with closing in on the threat," said Naweed Tahmas, CEO of Aeon. "This is a major step forward in moving beyond the decades-old, unguided weapons they still have to depend on today. We're incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with SOCOM to put a modern strike capability into the hands of operators."

"Special Operators need precision systems that can evolve as quickly as the battlefield does," said Dean Love, Chief Strategy Officer at Aeon. "Threats are changing rapidly, and operators can't wait years for a new weapon system every time the mission changes. Zeus was designed around the operator, so the warhead, seeker, and effect can change while the underlying weapon stays the same." The SOCOM effort builds on two years of internal Aeon investment in Zeus and will focus on enhancing and delivering the shoulder-fired configuration over the one-year contract period while expanding the system for additional missions and launch platforms. The award moves Zeus into production and delivery.

Aeon is developing a new 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility near Austin, TX, substantially expanding engineering and production capacity for Zeus and the company's other tactical weapon systems and critical components. The facility is designed to support higher production rates and greater magazine depth as Aeon moves into larger-scale delivery across multiple product lines.

Aeon is vertically integrated across key elements of the weapon system, developing and manufacturing critical subsystems in-house, including propulsion, fuzing, and other core technologies. That approac gives Aeon greater control over cost, supply chain, and production as Zeus moves to scale.

Zeus is part of Aeon's broader portfolio of tactical weapon systems and critical munitions components, including rocket motors and fuzes, that are supplied to industry to rebuild the defense industrial base.
